  • Condition: salvaged from an old, home in Central New Jersey, the door was original to the home's construction and the home was built during the first half of the previous century. It's made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is completely painted. The door has 2 recessed (flat) panels on both sides. No hardware included. The door is strong, sturdy, and in excellent condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks" The door is set up to swing into a room and end up on your left side, or away from the room and end up on your right side.     When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant  qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine
    .
